Our National Debt

As a percentage of GDP here is how recent presidents have increased our national debt:

Reagan: plus 14.9 percentage points

GHW Bush: plus 7.1 percentage points

Clinton: down 13.4 percentage points

GW Bush: plus 5.6 percentage points

Obama: plus 24.6 percentage points

Note that Reagan bankrupted the USSR and ended the cold war.

Also note that Clinton enjoyed the savings from the reduced military spending after the fall of the USSR.

And finally, note that Obama has only 3 years under his belt.
