Bleeding but not broken . . .

If you love your country you feel obligated to try to save the Promise we inherited.  You might strive on the local level or you may reach further.  How we choose to work to keep the Promise alive depends on our individual circumstances.  Eventually you will come to think you are swimming upstream with no appreciation for your efforts.  You can continue to fight the current of apathy and indifference that throws you against the rocks or you can claim sanctuary in the security of 'the three monkeys'  -- see, hear, speak no evil.  Either way the future will always come to meet you, reject or praise your efforts.  What we leave our children will be remembered with the perspective of time and we will be judged by our bequests.  Pee Jee Maguire
