Katrina plus 5
The news people are making great a story of the 5 year anniversary or Katrina. At the risk of seeming heartless and after being fully supportive of the rescue efforts for those caught up in the catastrophe that was Katrina, I find fault with all these efforts to rebuild. It was the responsibility of the American community to help get these unfortunates out of the ditch when it flooded. If they want to rebuild in the same below-sea-level swamp then let them do it by themselves. I think it foolish to subsidize stupid behavior. Make no mistake -- I fully support those who choose to rebuild on their own. I just think the taxpayers and right thinking individuals should not encourage idiocy.
